Installation & First Run#
Get Dedupify running in your HubSpot portal to start finding duplicates across your CRM. Installation takes only a few minutes.
Requirements#
- You must be a Super Admin in your HubSpot portal, or a user your Super Admin has granted install rights, to complete the OAuth flow.
- To edit Dedupify settings after installation, your HubSpot user must have the Integrations permission with Write access. Users without it can view settings but cannot save changes.
Installation Steps#
- Initiate the Install: Navigate to orangemage.ai and click Install Dedupify. You will be redirected to the HubSpot OAuth authorization page.
- Select Your Portal: Choose the HubSpot portal where you want to install Dedupify.
- Grant Permissions: Review the requested permissions. Dedupify requires read/write access to the CRM objects it manages — Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Tickets. Click Connect App.
- Land on Settings: After OAuth completes, you are redirected to the Dedupify settings page inside HubSpot. From here you activate object types and configure your first matching rules.
Note: Dedupify is installed from orangemage.ai, not from the HubSpot App Marketplace.
Activating Object Types#
Dedupify supports four object types: Contacts, Companies, Deals, and Tickets. Each must be activated before Dedupify acts on it. If an object’s access was not granted during the OAuth step, the settings page shows a Grant access prompt — click it to re-authorize with the additional scope.
First Run: Starter Rules#
When you activate Contacts or Companies, Dedupify pre-fills one recommended starter match rule and displays an onboarding banner:
“Dedupify has pre-configured a starting recipe…”
The starter rule is pre-filled but not yet saved. Review the rule, adjust if needed, and click Save to apply it.
For Deals and Tickets there is no starter rule. Add a match rule manually from the Rules tab once the object is active.
Your First Scan#
Saving and enabling your first rule starts an initial background scan of existing records. Duplicate candidates appear in the Duplicates tab as the scan completes. You do not need to wait for the scan to finish — new records are evaluated in near-real-time as they are created or updated from this point on.

Settings Page Tabs#
The Dedupify settings page is organized into five tabs:
